The mysteries of a beautiful voice

Today I would like to touch upon a question related to the timbre, beauty and harmony of our voice. It is often said that a woman loves with her ears, and a man loves with her eyes. But I have a feeling that everyone loves with their ears, and with their eyes, selectively, aesthetes and especially spoiled lovers of beauty.

So, the voice is important for everyone, especially for singers. And for ordinary people – not musicians – the beauty of the voice is also important, because it depends on whether your speech is harmonious or Continue reading

Efficient singing

Each musical vocalist must learn one rule: singing is sacred! Most problems associated with voice are caused by a lack of understanding of the importance of warming up the ligaments. I must admit, I myself did not understand this before, so my ligaments often suffered.

Before chanting, it is advisable to let the blood scatter over the body. Do a couple of physical exercises, such as bends, squats, push-ups, etc. (The main thing is not to overdo it, this is just a preparation). After that, you can start vocal exercises. And only after a good chant can you take on songs. Continue reading

Music and vocals: learning to sing

The exercises of this system are aimed at releasing the voice from tension, at developing and strengthening it, primarily as a human tool and as an actor’s tool. It is, rather, the release of a natural voice, rather than the development of voice technology. (But I think that it will be very useful for the vocalists to get some relaxation, release from the clamps.)

The goal of the Linklater method is to force the intellect to form a voice in direct contact with emotional impulses, without being an obstacle. Since the sounding voice is the result of physical processes, the muscles of the body must be free of tension in order to become susceptible to the impulses of the brain that generate speech. The natural voice is most noticeably blocked and distorted by physical stress. He also suffers from emotional, intellectual, and emotional stress. All these interferences are of a Continue reading

Articulation

The word “articulation” means “articulation”, “connection”. This is an oversimplified assessment of the complex activity of the body, in which thoughts are transformed into words. And much here depends on the individual. Individuality contributes to this process, and it should be open to the widest possibilities.

The next section on articulation suggests the most economical use of articulation. With the mobility of the lips and tongue comes freedom from the usual clamps in the articulation muscles. There is one criterion for clear speech – that is clear thinking.

Articulating surfaces Continue reading

Questions and answers about vocals

At what age can I learn to sing?

You can get involved in singing at any age. It is desirable – in the young, even … in the womb (scientists have shown that the fetus responds to music by changing the rhythm of its heart!). Let the child “sleep at the piano” when parents play music. The future singer, even before the “adult” classes, it is desirable to form musically. This will accelerate future vocal-technical development. Children’s impressions are strong and create the foundation for the upcoming profession. Many prominent singers began to sing in the children’s choir, observing a moderate voice load. If after a mutation (in boys, in the process of maturation, the voice can become lower) a professional voice is formed, then singing in childhood will be a significant contribution to the formation of a vocalist.
